Grace’s Prayer Ministry
Grace is well known in the region for its rich and robust Prayer Ministry Life. Reaching across denominations it is an ecumenical effort to connect those in need with prayerful intercession. Grace offers prayer ministers available for personal prayer at Sunday services with participation by members of the local chapter of the Order of St. Luke which offers regular meeting programs with regional and national participation. We also offer two distinct Prayer List opportunities. And there is a very active weekly contemplative Centering Prayer group.
Healing Prayer Ministers Are Available to You! In-Person meetings unfortunately are limited at this time by the COVID19 virus. On Sunday mornings Healing {Prayer Ministers are available to hear our petitions to the Lord and pray with us. If anyone would like prayer over the phone, please contact the parish office and a prayer minister will be pleased to pray with you over the phone. We do not need to be face to face for Jesus to hear our prayers. Many times, He healed people from a long distance. So, if you are in need of prayer, please contact us and we’ll be happy to pray and intercede with you. Blessings for peace and comfort!
Parish Prayer List
Prints in the Service Bulletin each Sunday and the monthly TEAM newsletter. Intercessions from this list are also included in Sunday’s Prayers of the People.
This prayer list is widely distributed through the methods above and a person’s name may remain on indefinitely. Please contact one of the Prayer ministers above of the Church office to include a name.
Parish Prayer Circle
Whenever Needed
This is an email based network of prayer warriors specifically involved with prompt needs. Emergency health issues and personal needs both in and outside the Grace community are welcomed. This group is devoted to offering up the needs of those who are suddenly in situations where multiple intercessions offer comfort and reassurance. This network is broad encompassing national prayer groups. Names offered here are sometimes added to the Parish List for longer periods of intercession. Needs may be submitted to the Church Office (828) 254-1086.
Centering Prayer
Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. – Suspended temporarily during the COVID19 Pandemic available on ZOOM here.
Centering Prayer is a method of silent prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of contemplative prayer, prayer in which we experience God’s presence within us, closer than breathing, closer than thinking, closer than consciousness itself. This method of prayer is both a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship. All are welcome.
